You should start with a white or light colored background to make the colors appear brighter and more vivid.

This is just gorgeous! I plan to create a jewelry box for my granddaughter with this as decoupage.
The only problem we had with this is that it was folded in half with the gold going right through one of the designs. We are using it for decoupage and we might not be able to flatten that crease. Will try ironing it but may just not be able to use it. It was shipped in cardboard so it wouldn’t get folded in shipping but it shouldn’t have been folded to begin with. I took a photo of it but I done see where I can attach it.
